1959: Anthon's grandfather Edward “Eddie” Joseph Bosch is forced into political exile due to his brother's activism, Jonie Bosch is a Freedom fighter in the Western Cape South Africa. Eddie meets a young lady in London, (who later goes on to become Anthon's grandmother). The two reunite in 1960 as Eddie is favourably remembered as the first South African in Sweden. This postcard was the first and last communication between Eddie and his parents. The apartheid security forces goes on to confiscate all further incoming mail from Eddie into South Africa.

1960: Eddie becomes a political activist and works voluntarily with the Swedish Government that at the time was an early silent partner to the “peoples fight against apartheid” Eddie is now co-founder of the international trade embargo against South Africa and the apartheid regime that had its early roots in Sweden. Due to Eddie's involvement with the trade embargo he was put on a 'blacklist' refused entry and communication to South Africa.
1971: January 14th Anthon's father Brian Bosch is born, the youngest child of Eddie's family of four children.
1990: Anthon's Grand Uncle Jonie had been placed under house arrest  A concerning message from the ANC information network is transmitted. Jonie has been badly beaten and is in critical condition after sustained brutal treatment by the apartheid security branch special forces. Eddie hurridly applies for a VISA to gain entry into South Africa but is subsequently denied. The Swedish Minister of home affairs at the time Pierre Schori sends a request to come with a delegation to S.A for a week together with Eddie so that he can visit his dying brother. This request is also denied. Jonie subsequently dies as a result of the brutal attacks by the home security forces.
1993:  Eddie is now a lecturer at Gothenburg University in sociology. His career here spans over two decades. Only now after all these years is he able to return to his beloved South Africa. Eddie has been in exile for 34 years. When Eddie returns to South Africa his only living siblings are his sister Iris and Maggie Bosch. He has lost all contact and communication with his family during his exile. Eddie did not even get to say goodbye to his parents and nine of his other siblings, this heartbreak of not knowing whether his family were even alive spanning over three decades.
1994: Eddie is now a volunteer for two years on behalf of the newly elected democratic government before retiring in 1996.
1996: 16th of April, Anthon Bosch is born.
2002: Anthon spends time with his extended Bosch family in South Africa, Anthon and Eddie's relationship grows and a very strong bond between them flourishes. Grandfather Eddie goes on to mentor and inspires me. He teaches me all about our South African legacy and the adversity he had to come to terms with.
2003: Inspired by his father Eddie, Brian and his wife Carina become exporters of handmade South African furniture to the EU. Helping promote trade and provide job opportunities for South Africans. They do this for over a decade.
2008: Anthon's father Brian embarks on a right of passage adventure with his son into the Mountains. Anthon has time to reflect on his Grandfathers life and his fathers love. En route home to Gothenburg after a weekend of snowboarding Anthon's explains to his father, that his goal is to become a professional snowboarder.
2010: Anthon's persistence and dogged determination pay off. His family decide to move from the west coast of Sweden (Gothenburg) to a ski resort called Sälen. His family show full support for Anthon's dream to pursue his snowboarding career.
2011: Anthon is invited to one of Europe’s most prestigious colleges; Norges Toppidretts-gymnas (NTG) – the Norwegian College of Elite Sport.
2012: Anthon's Grandfather Eddie passes away. Anthon and his family are devastated. During this time of grief, Anthon makes a decision. He will honour the legacy of his grandfather Eddie Bosch and represent South Africa in whatever way he can.
2016: After a considerable amount of effort and time. Anthon receives his 'letter of release' from the Swedish federation. He is now an exclusive representative of South Africa for all future competitions.
2017: Anthon has qualified South Africa on the world cup circuit and has been an active participant for two seasons with the goal being qualification for the 2018 winter Olympics.
2018: Winter Olympics Pyeongchang. After seasons of hard work, Anthon sustains a serious injury at the finish line. Heartbreakingly he misses out on his opportunity to compete at the Olympics 2018.
2019: Livigno ski resort extends Anthon an invitation. He becomes an ambassador and fellow athlete. Anthon is now based in the heart of the Alps, Italy.
2020/2021: Anthon has now reset his sights on Olympic Glory. He is stronger both Physically and Mentally. His heart and mind are determined and focused on qualifying for the Olympics in Beijing 2022

2022: First ever winter Olympic gold medalist from the African continent. Anthon's goal is set in stone. It is to honour the legacy of Eddie Bosch by providing hope and having a positive impact on every young and older person in South Africa. We invite you to join Anthon on this incredible journey.
